By public transport
Sleutelhuys is also easily accessible by public transport. Tielt railway station is approximately 1 kilometre away and a De Lijn bus stop is located approximately 200 metres from Sleutelhuys.
By car
Tielt is centrally located between the historic cities of Bruges, Ghent and Kortrijk and is easily accessible via the E17, E40 and E403 motorways.
From Sleutelhuys, you can easily reach businesses and business parks in Tielt and the surrounding region, as well as cities such as Roeselare, Waregem, Deinze and Aalter.
Parking
Sleutelhuys does not have its own private guest parking. Paid parking is available at certain times on Rameplein, right next to our accommodations.
The public Collegesite car park is only a few minutes’ walk away and offers free, unrestricted parking.

Historic centre and Belfry
Walk from Sleutelhuys to the Market Square and discover Tielt’s historic centre. The Belfry of Tielt, with its bell tower, has been recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999 and has been a symbol of the town for centuries.
Huis Mulle de Terschueren and town park
The protected Huis Mulle de Terschueren, located in the town park, is also part of Tielt’s heritage and can easily be combined with a walk through the town centre.
Poelberg
If you prefer the countryside, head towards the Poelberg. The gently rolling landscape around Tielt provides a beautiful setting for walking and cycling.
Walking and cycling from Tielt
Tielt is an excellent base for exploring West Flanders on foot or by bicycle. You can create your own route using the cycle and walking junction networks, while several signposted walking and cycling routes are also available.
Cycling
Discover, for example, the Tieltse Wijnfietsroute, the Tielts Plateaufietsroute or other cycling routes through the countryside surrounding Tielt. The cycle network connects to both the Bruges countryside and the Lys region.
Bicycles can be stored safely indoors at Sleutelhuys, and charging facilities for electric bikes are also available.
Walking
Walkers can also choose from a variety of routes.
The Stadswandelroute Tielt takes you through the historic town centre, while the Klavertje4 walks and Dwars door Tielt lead you through little streets, quiet paths and some of Tielt’s lesser-known places.
The Poelberg-Meikensbossen walking network and routes in and around Kanegem, Schuiferskapelle and Aarsele offer plenty of further possibilities.
